Since its establishment in 1977, VLN has long become one of the most popular racing series both with amateurs and professionals. The Championship has quite liberal regulations. Depending on the vehicle class, competitors range from 'modest' compact hatchbacks to real supercars such as McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes SLS or Porsche GT3. There are up to 180 cars and about 500 drivers on the entry list. Despite the fact that the Championship is called a German racing series, anyone can take part regardless of their nationality and religious beliefs.
