Follow the track rules

Friends, while the same traffic rules apply on tourist days at the Nürburgring as on any other road in Germany, the responsibility you bear for a rented sports car here is entirely different. Driving on a race track carries significantly higher risks, which is why rental prices are much steeper than, for example, renting a Porsche for the autobahn. Insurance costs are also crucial—more comprehensive coverage reduces your financial liability ( Max excess ).

A common misconception is that the Nürburgring is just another highway and that if you crash a rented sports car, insurance will cover everything. Unfortunately, this is not the case. If an accident occurs, you will be held financially responsible. Failure to pay could land you on a "blacklist", preventing you from renting sports cars on the Nürburgring in the future. To mitigate risks, you can opt for additional insurance. The available options and terms are outlined below.

Conditions for insurance

• Insurance is only available to individuals 21 years of age and older.
• The insurance covers only the rented sports car.
• Damage incurred on the Nürburgring race track, including fences and service personnel work, is not covered by the additional insurance. All track-related damages and associated personnel costs must be paid separately.
• Additional insurance must be taken out before renting a sports car.
• Additional insurance can be paid along with the sports car rental or separately ( One consolidated invoice or two separate invoices can be issued for payment ).
• Please note that towing your car from the racetrack is not covered by our insurance. All towing costs must be covered by you or your insurance provider.
• To purchase additional insurance, a copy of your driver's license and ID card is required.
• Insurance can be paid online or by credit card at the Nurburgring. Cash is not accepted.

Example of Additional Insurance

You rented a Renault Megane RS or BMW M235 with the «All-Inclusive» package on the Nürburgring race track. This package includes sports car rental, fuel, track tickets, video, and Basic insurance, which limits your maximum excess to €9,000 in the event of a total crash. This means that if the car sustains maximum damage (total crash) on the race track due to your fault, you will be responsible for paying up to €9,000. All expenses exceeding € 9,000 are covered by our company. However, if you only scratch the wheels or bumper, you will only be responsible for the repair costs of those parts.

Our insurance packages

• Basic Package: For €0, your maximum excess is €9,000
• Standard Package: For €99, your maximum excess in an accident is reduced to €7,000
• Premium Package: For € 249, your max excess decreases to €5,500 ( instead of the basic €9,000 )
• Ultimate Package: For € 599, your max excess decreases to €3,000 ( instead of the basic €9,000 )
